How to install
Download the file
Open this page on your Android device and tap the download button above. The file (Tumtale.apk) will save to your Downloads folder.
Allow this install
Tap the downloaded file. Android will show: “For your security, your phone is not allowed to install unknown apps from this source.” Tap Settings, then turn on Allow from this source for your browser or Files app, and go back.
Confirm the install
You may see “This type of file can harm your device.” This is Android's standard warning for any app installed outside the Play Store — tap Install anyway to continue, then Install on the next screen.
Open Tumtale
Once installation finishes, tap Open — or find Tumtale on your home screen anytime.

Why isn't Tumtale on the Google Play Store?
It will be — but direct download lets us bring updates to your family faster while we're small. Every build here is the same one we ship, just without the store's review delay.
Is it safe to install an app from outside the Play Store?
Yes, when it comes from a source you trust. Android blocks "unknown sources" by default and asks you to confirm before installing — that's expected, not a warning about Tumtale specifically. The checksum below lets you verify the file wasn't tampered with.
Will Tumtale update itself?
Not automatically like a Play Store app. Check back on this page for new versions — we'll list the current version and checksum here each time.
