Privacy at Tumtale
The short version: we don't collect personal data from anyone, especially not kids. Here's the whole story.
Who we are
Tumtale makes short daily educational stories for kids ages 3–9 — science, history, culture, and kindness, told simply and safely. Questions about anything on this page? Email us at [email protected].
The short version
The Tumtale app collects no personal data. Full stop.
- No accounts — no names, emails, or logins in the app
- No location collected, ever
- No tracking, no analytics SDKs
- No ads, so nothing is collected to target them
- Favorites, downloads, and buddy choice stay on your device
- The app only goes online to fetch our story catalog and media
Our website
The waitlist form on tumtale.com stores the email address that a parent submits — nothing else. We use it only to send launch and product updates, and you can unsubscribe anytime by emailing [email protected]. This site doesn't use tracking cookies or any third-party analytics.
Our YouTube channel
Our story videos live on YouTube, which has its own privacy policy covering how it handles viewing data. Our channel is marked Made for Kids, which means YouTube turns off personalized ads and comments there.
Children's privacy (COPPA)
Tumtale is designed for children and built from the ground up to collect nothing from them. Because we don't collect personal information from anyone — including children — there's no parental consent mechanism needed for data we simply don't gather. If you have questions about this, we're happy to answer them at [email protected].
Changes
If anything about how Tumtale works ever changes, we'll update this page and the date below.
